If both adults genuinely agree to review a phone together, keep the agreement narrow. Sit together, name the concern, decide which account or conversation will be opened, and stop when that agreed check is finished. A blanket “you can inspect anything forever” promise usually creates a second trust problem.
Do not install a parental-control app on a partner’s phone to look for evidence. These products are intended for devices a parent or guardian is authorized to supervise, not covert adult surveillance. Messages taken out of context also cannot prove or disprove a relationship concern.
