The macOS build covers MacBooks and iMacs running macOS 10.12 Sierra or newer, including Apple silicon. It needs Full Disk Access β€” a permission Apple enforces strictly, and the reason most failed installs fail.

    What the macOS build records

    • Keystrokes and clipboard activity
    • Web history from supported browsers, with timestamps
    • Scheduled screenshots of the desktop
    • Application usage and launch times
    • Files opened, created or modified in monitored folders
    • Connected external drives and network details

The permission that matters: Full Disk Access

macOS sandboxes applications by default. Without Full Disk Access, the app installs, launches, and then reports almost nothing β€” which is why a "silent" install usually means a permission problem rather than a broken product. Grant it in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Full Disk Access, then quit and relaunch the app. Screen Recording is a separate permission and is needed for screenshots.

On macOS 13 and later you also approve the app under Login Items so it restarts after a reboot. If the Mac is managed by an MDM profile, the profile may block both permissions until an administrator allows the app.

    Requirements

    • macOS 10.12 Sierra or newer; macOS 13–15 recommended
    • Administrator password for installation
    • Full Disk Access and Screen Recording permissions
    • 300 MB free disk space
    • Apple silicon Macs are supported, with Rosetta installed if the build requires it

    Appropriate use on a Mac

A company Mac issued to an employee, with written notice and an acknowledged acceptable-use policy, is the clearest case. A family iMac shared with a child is the other. A partner's personal MacBook, a machine you are repairing for someone, or a computer you have borrowed are all out of bounds β€” installing monitoring software there is illegal in most countries and we will not support it.

Removing the app from a Mac

Quit the app, open System Settings and remove it from Login Items, then drag it from Applications to the Trash and empty the Trash. Revoke Full Disk Access and Screen Recording in Privacy & Security so no residual permission remains. Removing the device in your dashboard first stops uploads immediately and deletes its collected data.

    Frequently asked questions

Why does the Mac app show almost no data?

Full Disk Access was not granted, or was granted after the app started. Grant it in System Settings, then quit and relaunch the app.

Does it work on Apple silicon?

Yes. Macs with M-series chips are supported; if the build requires Rosetta, macOS prompts you to install it during setup.

    Can it read iMessage conversations?

It captures what is visible on screen through screenshots and keystrokes. It does not decrypt Apple's message database, so treat iMessage coverage as partial.

Is a Mac harder to monitor than Windows?

Yes. Apple requires explicit user-granted permissions for disk and screen access, so installation takes an extra step and cannot be done silently from another machine.
