For a minor child and a device you manage, parental controls can support conversations about strangers, bullying, sensitive images, location sharing and late-night use. Explain the boundaries where age and circumstances allow, use the least intrusive option that addresses the concern, and review settings together.
Do not install monitoring software on a partner, adult family member, employee or any device you do not own or administer without the authorization required by local law. If a child is facing threats, exploitation or immediate danger, preserve available evidence and contact the platform, school, local child-safety service or law enforcement instead of confronting a suspected offender through the child's account.
