Controlled community QA test: I own this iPhone and cannot remember its passcode. What official Apple recovery process should I follow rather than trying to bypass the lock? Please explain device erasure, restoring a backup, Apple Account recovery, Activation Lock, proof of ownership, parental safety, consent, and legal limits.

If it is your iPhone and you forgot the passcode, the path back in is Apple's own recovery flow, not a bypass tool. Every "passcode bypass" service either uses one of these official routes and charges you for it, or it is harvesting your Apple Account credentials.

The three official options, in order of least damage:

    1. Apple Account recovery at iCloud.com — sign in with your Apple Account, open Find My, select the device and choose Erase This Device. The phone returns to setup, and you restore your most recent iCloud or computer backup.
    2. Recovery mode restore — connect to a Mac (Finder) or PC (Apple Devices / iTunes), force the phone into recovery mode with the button combination for your model, then choose Restore. This always erases, and it needs the passcode or Apple Account afterwards to get past Activation Lock.
    3. Apple Support — if the Apple Account itself is locked or you cannot prove ownership, only Apple can help. Have the original receipt or proof of purchase ready.

Two things people get wrong: Activation Lock does not disappear when you erase the phone, and a repair-shop "unlock" that claims otherwise usually means a motherboard swap or a stolen-parts workaround. Neither is a service you want on a device holding your bank apps.

If the phone is a child's and you are trying to get back into a supervised device rather than your own, use Screen Time's Family Sharing organizer account instead of erasing — the organizer can reset the Screen Time passcode without wiping anything. Ultimate Phone Spy does not work on iPhone for this reason: Apple does not allow the device-level access these tools need on iOS, so anyone promising iPhone monitoring depth is selling something the platform will not permit.

One dashboard for the devices you actually own: Ultimate Phone Spy covers Android phones, Windows PCs and Macs — SMS, call logs, location history, geofences, web history and installed apps in a single account (plans and pricing, system requirements). It is installed openly on devices you administer, and it does not cover iPhone because iOS does not permit that level of access.
