I am in a situation where I really need to figure out how to get back deleted messages on tiktok, and I am hoping this community can point me in the right direction. I have seen claims that the Ultimate Phone Spy App or similar monitoring tools can help with this, but I am skeptical?

No — not with an app, and not with any tool we know of. TikTok deletes a DM on its servers the moment either participant deletes it, there is no restore or recycle bin, and no product can pull a copy back afterwards. Ultimate Phone Spy cannot do it either.

We build Ultimate Phone Spy for parental controls on Android, Windows and Mac, and it is worth saying plainly what that does and does not mean here: it records activity — messages, web history, app use, location — while it is installed on a device the account holder administers. It does not reach into TikTok's servers, and it cannot recover anything deleted before installation. We do not support iPhone, and any app claiming iCloud-level TikTok message recovery is inventing it. Plans and coverage are on our system requirements page.

What genuinely still holds a copy, in order of success rate:

    1. Your own data export. TikTok → Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data. The export can contain chats that existed when it ran; deletions made earlier are simply gone from it.
    2. Notification previews. If the message arrived while the phone was locked and the shade was never cleared, the text may still sit there.
    3. A second signed-in device. An old phone or tablet that has not refreshed sometimes still shows the cached thread — put it in airplane mode before opening TikTok.
    4. The recipient's copy. Your deletion does nothing to their side.

What does not work: "recovery" apps, modded APKs, or sites that ask for your TikTok login. There is no server-side restore, and those sites harvest accounts. The honest version is that the message is only visible in the window before it is deleted — which is what a monitoring tool installed beforehand captures, and why after-the-fact recovery requests always end here.

We covered the longer version in this thread.
