If unfamiliar logins or profile changes appear on your Instagram account, act from a device you trust. Change the Instagram password, end unknown sessions in Accounts Center, enable authenticator-based two-factor authentication, and check whether the recovery email or phone number changed. Then secure the attached email inbox and remove suspicious connected apps.

Use Instagram's official compromised-account process if you cannot sign in. Do not share a login code, backup code, session cookie, or screen-sharing access with anyone offering recovery. Those details can let the person take the account again.
