I am on the hunt for a reliable solution and was wondering if anyone can help with: keylogger for iphone? I keep seeing the Ultimate Phone Spy App recommended in various forums, but I want to know if it genuinely delivers on this specific feature?

Short answer: there is no legitimate iPhone keylogger, and any site selling one is describing something iOS does not permit. Apple's sandbox means no app can capture keystrokes typed into another app — Messages, Safari, WhatsApp — so a "keylogger for iPhone" is either a jailbreak-only tweak or a false claim bolted onto a basic monitoring dashboard.

    Why the claim fails

    • No keyboard hook exists. Third-party apps cannot install a system-wide keyboard listener; keyboard extensions only see text typed into them.
    • Jailbreak is the only path, and it is a bad one. It voids warranty coverage, breaks OTA updates, fails banking and government apps and makes the phone easier for malware to compromise. That is a security bypass, so we will not walk anyone through it.

What the iPhone gives you, free. Screen Time covers app limits, downtime, content restrictions and Communication Limits — set on the child's device under Settings > Screen Time. Family Sharing with a child Apple Account adds purchase approval and Screen Time reports. None of that is keystroke logging, and none of it needs a subscription.

What we cover. Ultimate Phone Spy runs on Android 4.0+, Windows and Mac — and not iPhone, at all, because iOS does not grant device-level access. On an Android phone or family PC you administer, install is done openly with the passcode, and the dashboard logs typed text, messages, web history and location. Requirements: https://ultimatephonespy.com/system-requirements. The walkthrough at https://ultimatephonespy.com/installation-guide is physical, not remote.

The legal line. Capturing what someone types on a phone you do not own and they have not consented to is interception under the Wiretap Act (18 U.S.C. 2511), the UK Computer Misuse Act and GDPR, and several US states require all-party consent. On a partner's phone that is a criminal matter in many jurisdictions, not a grey area.

If your real need is the opposite — removing a keylogger from an iPhone — erase it from Settings > General > Transfer or Reset, restore a backup made before the install, then change the Apple Account password and enable two-factor. On a minor's device you administer, Screen Time plus an open conversation beats any app here.
