    Life360 vs google family link?

I am currently torn between life360 and google family link for monitoring purposes, and I could really use some advice. I have also been looking into the Ultimate Phone Spy App as a potential alternative, but I want to know how it stacks up. Has anyone here tried these options?

They solve different problems: Family Link is a free device-management tool for children's Android phones (with limited iPhone support), while Life360 is a family locator for any phone and any age. If your child has Android and you want app limits and screen time, Family Link wins. If you want everyone's location including a partner's iPhone, Life360 wins.

Google Family Link — free, requires the child to have a Google account under 13 supervision (or a supervised account). Gives you: location, app install approval, screen-time limits, bedtime lock, and app activity reporting. It can also approve purchases. What it does not give: driving reports, crash detection, or location history beyond the current pin.

Life360 — free tier covers location and place alerts; paid tiers add driving reports, crash detection and 30-day history. It manages no apps and sets no screen time. It works on iPhone and Android alike, which Family Link's iPhone side only partly does.

In practice many families run both: Family Link for limits, Life360 for the map. That is not redundant — neither does the other's job.

Where our app fits. Ultimate Phone Spy runs on Android 4.0+, Windows and macOS and covers messages, calls, social notifications, installed apps and location in one place (features). It does not replace Family Link's device management — Family Link is free and does that better — but it is where Family Link stops: message-level visibility.
