Crunchyroll has a maturity rating per profile, but no PIN lock on the profile itself — which means a child can switch to the adult profile and the restriction disappears. For real control you pair the rating with a device-level lock: a TV PIN, a kids profile on the streaming box, or a managed profile on a tablet.
What Crunchyroll gives you: Settings → Profile → Maturity Rating (Little Kids, Older Kids, Teens, Mature). Each profile keeps its own rating, so set the child's profile correctly and leave the adult one to yourself. There is no passcode requirement on profile switching, and no time limits.
How to make it stick:
- Set the child's profile rating and make it the only profile on the device they use — one profile, no switcher.
- On a Fire TV or Apple TV, use the device's own profile/PIN so switching requires a code.
- On a tablet, use Android's Restricted Profile or iOS Guided Access to lock into the app.
- Block crunchyroll.com at the router if you want it off entirely — crude but effective.
What it does not do: no screen time, no watch history report, no PIN. If your child shares your living-room TV account, assume they can reach the adult profile.
Where our app fits. Ultimate Phone Spy covers Android 4.0+, Windows and macOS (parental control features) and reports app usage on a monitored Android device, but it does not control a TV app. Device-level PINs are the right tool here.
