As a parent, I am constantly looking for the best parental control setup to keep my family safe, specifically regarding how to check computer screen time. I have been researching the Ultimate Phone Spy App and similar tools, but there’s so much conflicting information online?

On Windows, screen time for a child lives in Settings → Accounts → Family & other users → Screen time, and the full report is at family.microsoft.com. On a Mac it is System Settings → Screen Time → App Usage, per device and per app.

    Windows:

    • Settings → Accounts → Family & other users → Screen time — per-child daily limits and schedules, and a weekly activity report by app and website at family.microsoft.com.
    • No family account? Windows keeps no built-in screen-time report for an adult account. Use the Timeline/app history in Settings → Privacy & security → Activity history, or a third-party tracker.

    macOS:

    • System Settings → Screen Time → App Usage / Screen Time — hours per app, per device, shared across devices signed into the same Apple ID. Downtime and App Limits live in the same pane.

Both platforms: browser history is not screen time. Chrome/Edge history shows sites, not duration; Family Safety and Screen Time report actual minutes.

Where our app fits. Ultimate Phone Spy runs on Windows and macOS as well as Android (supported devices) and reports app usage, keystrokes and screen activity from the monitored computer to the dashboard. For a child's PC, Microsoft Family Safety is free and covers limits; ours adds visibility into what was actually typed and viewed.
